About me

I studied graphic design in Aberdeen, Scotland and graduated in1995.

I worked for over 10 years as a designer, visualising everything from logos to company annual reports. In 2007 I left the commercial design world and now work part-time for a music charity whilst continuing to work freelance as an illustrator and designer.

Producing editorial and children’s illustration on a freelance basis allows me to pick projects which interest me. Past and present clients include Juno magazine, Fife Council, Aberdeenshire Council, Scottish Children's Press and the Langbyre Gallery.

Illustrated books include 'The Magic Chanter' by Sheila Douglas, 'Little Kirstie of Aberlour' by Samantha Valentine (Scottish Children's Press) and 'Eilidh and her Friends' (Acair Ltd). I am currently working on a children's book of my own.

September 2005 saw the launch of my website www.illustration.webeden.co.uk and sister site www.petportraits.webeden.co.uk, resulting in commissions from as far afield as New Zealand and the USA.

The Painted Forest is a new project, launched in March 2009. I want to keep the website simple (so I can spend more time painting and less time updating!). Hopefully, the pieces & prints speak for themselves!
